David Coutelas comes from a family of vignerons dating back to the 18th century. The house is in Villers-sous-Chatillon in the Marne valley. He is a passionate winemaker, persevering in the old traditions that you don't come across very often. Long aging, fabulous reserve wines and great “savoir faire”.
Tasting Notes:  (FR) Vying for top honors with the Eric Isselee, the Cuvee Cesar from David Coutelas is a sleeping giant, promising great rewards to the patient Champagne lover.  All of the elements of fine Champagne are here in ample supply; complex aromas, stunning length of flavor, superb expression of terroir and structure to spare.  Believe it or not, this year’s cuvee costs less than last year’s.  You simply have to buy this amazing Champagne.  ****+

Tasting Notes:  The style is vinous without excess, expressive on notes of baked apples and fresh cocoa. The balance is very controlled between freshness and gluttony. We love this fine bitterness that completes this picture. Citrus fruits bring a boost to the whole and make this cuvée very pleasant. Gault&Millau
