2017 Tenuta Biserno Insoglio delle Cinghiale IGT Toscana
Campo di Sasso enjoys a warm climate but is tempered by its proximity to the sea; and the mixture of soils offers the opportunity to grow varieties like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and particularly, Syrah. The Biscerno Insoglio del Cinghiale is a blend of all these varieties, each sourced from a high-density vineyard ideally suited to the requirements of each grape type. With a significant percentage of the blend aged in newer French oak barrels, the wine is a deliciously modern take and simply spectacular; dark, rich, earthy and deep.
The 2017 vintage created an especially forward, generous wine with great freshness that pairs beautifully with any Tuscan-inspired cuisine. Wild game dishes (including cinghiale of course!) savory stews, pasta with tomato sauce and pecorino cheese and the like are all perfect pairings. It’s a pleasure to have it back in stock and available for your enjoyment. – Frank Rothstein
