Some might say the name is silly, others (like the dog-lover in me) might think it inspired, but there is more than a hint of playfulness in a wine that- definitely- shows a bit of School House-y gravitas as well.  And there is, for sure, more than a passing resemblance to its French analog thanks to its beautiful lifted aromatics and siphoned-through-stone minerality.  But, at a mere 13.4% alcohol, there’s a lot more finesse and vividness to the fruit than is common in the southern Rhone these days.   And though weighing in a bit larger in scale than that inaugural 2018, the 2019 vintage ‘Woof is simply a delight to drink!  Very floral on the nose, with aromas of wild strawberry, wild fennel, white pepper and lavender, it finishes with  beautiful minerality, energy and balance.  Middle-weight, food friendly, and a ton of fun to drink, this totally unique version of Rhone-Meets-Napa is a must have for your spring lamb dishes, beef off the grill, or anytime you and your dog want to enjoy a great glass of red together.
