Not every day can be Austin Hope Cabernet day.  We get it!  Even at the great price we have on it, we know that not everyone wants to open a $40 bottle of Cab on a Tuesday night.  But that doesn’t mean you’ll have to set your bar much lower to find a rich, tasty and complex Paso Robles Cab you can open any night of the week, though.  The Hope family has you covered there too!  Introducing ‘Austin by Austin Hope,’ the cure for the Austin Hopeless Tuesday night!  While Austin’s big brother is sourced entirely from the family’s famed Paso Robles estate, the Hopes keep the Austin price low by labeling it without a vintage and looking further afield across the Paso landscape to source the fruit and create an amazing-value Second Label Cabernet.  But, make no mistake about it!  This has all the DNA of Austin Hope and the best of the rest of this up-and-coming appellation for only a $20 a bottle!  Dark and rich, there’s a swirl of chocolate and vanilla that runs through its deeply concentrated currant-y, Kirsch-like fruit.  A hint of toasty oak adds a shot of espresso to all that chocolate-y goodness and its finish is surprisingly broad and long. Bold, savory, expressive and really fun to drink, you can reserve your precious bottles of Austin Hope Cab for when friends are over and steak is on the grill and, instead, pop one (or more) Austins when it’s burgers instead!  Really a very fine candidate for those looking for a house Cab on the bigger side of life!  The case special is just for Friday Follies and expires at the end of business on Saturday.
