We’re teaming up again with our friends at Livermore’s The Cheese Parlor for a fun and instructive evening of wine and cheese. This year, we’ll feature the salty, fresh wines of coastal Italy artfully paired with an amazing set of cheeses from our favorite punk rocker-turned-cheesemonger Brandon Wood. An Evening in Montalcino with La Gerla

Join us as Alberto Passeri, the man in charge of the La Gerla vineyards and winery, will let us sample not only the winery’s amazing 2021 Brunellos, but also their Rosso di Montalcino and barrique-aged Birba.
From one of the most important properties of the cooler Canalicchio zone of Montalcino in southern Tuscany, La Gerla was part of the original Biondi-Santi estate and shares a parking lot (and terroir) with better-known—and way more expensive—Canalicchio di Sopra. Always one of the better under-the-radar offerings, La Gerla’s wines are made in an old-school style that emphasizes complexity with plenty of forest floor and tobacco notes to go along with a solid armature that promises a very long life.

Our dear friend Alexandra Sainz will join us again to pour her inimitable Grand Crus, and you'll also enjoy sips of Charles Heidsieck, Egly-Ouriet, Henriot, Petit & Bajan, and nearly 20 more more sparkling treats. We'll have some light bites too.
