There’s always a certain amount of rusticity associated with the reds of Blagny, a distinctive earthiness and iron-y minerality that adds interest to what is usually a red berry infusion blended with cherry, spice and violets.  The 2015, an qualified success at this address, is only now rounding into form with its fruit and floral notes fully integrated into a wonderfully complex whole.  The plum of its youth has become a touch of hoisin now and there is a nice pinch of cinnamon and clove-y spice too. Medium to full, it’s a pretty terrific drink and a pretty good use of your Burgundy dollar!  Something to drink with your rosemary leg of lamb while you’re waiting for your 2018s to come around!
