The 2016 Ceretto Barolo Brunate is incredibly sexy, with a tight, concentrated core of blue fruit, a kitchen cabinet’s worth of baking spices like cinnamon and clove, finished with a dash of something floral and herbal. This is a particularly effusive Brunate that comes off as the more approachable of the two wines but the guts underneath are formidable and this will prove to be a very long ager. A great Brunate in every way and a classic 2016.
