The 2020 Aldo Conterno Barolos are an impressive group- it was a vintage that truly favored Monforte d’Alba in general and Bussia specifically, and these will be particularly long-lived wines while being quite approachable while still young. It’s an elegant, classy lineup that shows this seminal winery at the top of their game. The Barolo Bussia is, as always, winemaker Franco Conterno’s calling card- a terrific wine with a ton of personality. As for the others, the Colonello is truly worth the extra spend. There are only 3 bottles of the 2015 Granbussia to share with the world.
