PRIMA Notes:  The Chamiot family has owned vineyards in Apremont for generations, and the young Romain has recently taken over from his grandparents to continue the family business.  They farm seven hectares scattered among 30 parcels dotted around the appellation. Most of the vines are on steep, steep slopes, tended by hand and averaging 40 to 50 years old with some as old as 80.  They produce wines with lovely Asian pear-like fruit that can drift almost to peach or apricot as it warms in the glass with hints of wintergreen and salty mineral on the finish.
