My Favorite Neighbor needs no introduction here.  Associated with Booker, one of a new wave of dynamic Central Coast wineries making some of the most prodigious, compelling wines in California right now, MFN is winemaker Eric Jensen’s nod to the hard work of the farmers from whom he purchases grapes. These wines have really turned a lot of heads. Many of you are already big fans of his particularly outstanding Cabernet that I am sure that it would probably cost twice or three times the price if they were from the Napa Valley or Eastern Washington. But Eric also makes a Chardonnay he calls simply calls MFN Blanc. Grown in San Luis Obispo and barrel fermented and aged, it’s a riper, richer style of Central Coast white that hits all the high notes! Lovers of bigger, more voluptuous Chardonnays will totally dig its ebullient, plush stone- and tropical fruit flavors that land just-this-side-of-O.T.T. while even the most jaded Chardonnay palate will appreciate its very fine life-giving acidity which keeps all those fruit and wood flavors in check. The finish is very lively for a wine of this girth…. Weighing in at under 14% alcohol, it’s long on horsepower but light on its feet at the same time. What fun! We’ve received a ‘Brave New World’ price on a parcel of this and want to share the largesse to our Chardonnay lovin’ crowd! Definitely worth a sixer!

Wine Advocate: The 2021 Chardonnay is very ripe in style with scents of banana chip, apple pie, jasmine, allspice and brown sugar. The full-bodied palate is packed with ripe, spicy fruits and plenty of refreshing acidity, and it finishes long with a satiny, mouth-coating texture. It's an old-school style reminiscent of Napa that fans of ripe, oaked Chardonnays will enjoy. 97 points
