Prima Note :This is my pick for springtime drinking.  Brokenwood is one of the few wineries in the world that actually specialize in making Semillon and produces three different versions of it.  The ‘straight’ one sees no wood and carries its Kadota fig, lemongrass and orange blossom notes along to a palate that is surprisingly broad and the mineral finish is all you could ask for in a stellar aperitivo wine.  Don’t serve too cold.  In Australia, this icon is usually served with local lobster and all kinds of other seafood but we like it with oysters too. Or all by its lonesome.
