Rose petal, tangerine peel, cinnamon, kirsch, pomegranate and mint explode from the glass. Beams of supporting tannin give the wine its vertical build. This is such a promising Barolo. It could very well turn out to be one of the wines of the vintage.”Robert Parker, 96 points: "Fratelli Alessandria started bottling Monvigliero back in 1978. The 2021 Barolo Monvigliero (with 7,000 bottles released) is a wine of extreme elegance and grace. It shows wild berry, redcurrant, lilac and light spice. Fruit comes from a 1.4-hectare plot with south and southwest exposures on silty limestone soils. With exactly 1.38ha in Monvigliero, the family has been producing this iconic bottling since 1978. Vibrantly lit, it gives an impression of weightlessness while simultaneously demonstrating substantial concentration of pepper-inflected raspberry.
