Big time wine!  Consider this the coming out party for this Roddi cuvee.  It’s a wonderful site with perfect exposure and its cooler climate makes for a more elegant, open and charming expression of Barolo.  Immaculate, stylish and a wine you can enjoy in its relative youth too.  We loved the 2020, but this is the best-ever Ambrogio from Scavino, and perhaps the wine that will start a land rush here similar to that of Monvigliero six or eight years ago.  JS97, WE97, V96, WA94
Wine Spectator: Rich and permeated with cherry, pomegranate, earth, wild herb and iron flavors, this red is dense and powerful. Firm, chalky tannins ply its depths, leaving a solid grip on the finish, yet the fruit is ripe and the aftertaste long, with sweet fruit returning at the end. Best from 2027 through 2048. 96 points
