2024 Bargemone Rosé Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence
Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah. Certified organic.
If I were to construct from my imagination the perfect dry-styled Provençal rosé to enjoy this weekend (and for many weekends to come), it would probably look a lot like the Bargemone from Aix-en-Provence. I mean, is there any place more Provençal than Aix? It checks all of the boxes we require from the category and everyone who tastes it, simply loves it.
It’s fresh, fruity and plenty fun enough for those who demand nothing more from their dry rosé other than being cold and in a glass as a part of a wonderful summer day. Yet, there is all the great natural acidity, the vibrant aromatics and the crisp mineral finish those who desire a lot more from character in their dry, pink wine could want.
And, important for both parties, the price is still pretty impressive too. I came across an old offer in our archives for Bargemone rosé (wearing its much uglier label) when we sold the 2015 vintage back in 2017, and this newly tariffed 2024 is only a buck more! We’re betting you won’t find a better rosé for the money out there. And magnums? Just sayin’. Experience has taught me, a big bottle will go almost as fast as a 750, no matter how many drinkers there are! This is a very easy wine to love and the new label is pretty cool too.
