Chinon is at its best when it’s in this unoaked, super juicy, super aromatic and super scrumptious mode. Dark, almost black, in color, the aromatics are so vivid, so lively and so much fun. Black cherries, mulberries, blueberries, violets, tobacco, graphite, soy sauce and freshly ground white pepper are all swirled into a mélange of wonderfully vibrant flavors that finish with just the right amount of crunchy freshness. Light on its feet but surprisingly satisfying, it’s everything you could ask for in a house red. Drink it alongside some grilled pork and figs, guzzle a bottle with some burgers and ribs or just open it to have it open. It’s delicious.
