Let’s go far south, all the way to the slopes of Mount Etna for Alberto Graci’s delightful rosato of Nerello Mascalese. Graci is located in Passopisciaro on the north side of the volcano. Their vineyards sit in the heart of the Alcantara Valley at an altitude of between 600 and 1,000 meters, and the rosé is always scintillating dry, saline and beautifully aromatic.

With notes of cherry candy, fresh florals and a whiff of alpine strawberry, it’s suited for easy quaffing, but, as proven at a favorite spot in Lafayette that always pours this by the glass, it goes wonderfully with a smoky, flavorful pizza! Easygoing, fun but sneakily serious, this is a wonderfully multipurpose rosé.
