Imagine the tears of joy in your loved one’s eyes when they rip the wrapping off this lovely case of 12 bottles of BV Carneros Chardonnay and imagine the joy you, as Santa, will feel when you get your credit card bill in January to see you only paid $160 for it! That’s $13.33 a bottle for a wine that routinely sells for much closer to $30! We don’t really have Santa to thank- just Beaulieu’s distributor looking at closing out their year strong and wanting to get some of this off the warehouse floor. Winners all around!
The wine, you ask? Coming from cooler vineyard sites in both the Napa and Sonoma sides of Los Carneros, it’s a sleeker, more aromatic style of Chardonnay that, while generously oaked and pleasingly rich on the palate, is also quite bright with fresh lemon curd, lychee, spice and citrus notes, some of which are attributable to the not-inconsiderable percentage of Viognier in the blend. That brings out the nose of the wine and balances the plusher Chard on the palate. All in all, it’s an extremely crowd pleasing Chardonnay that you’ll love to open both as an aperitivo or alongside your good cooking! We were only able to get 10 cases at this price and they’re available only as solid cases.
