Bruichladdich Black Art 7.1 is a marriage of casks distilled in 1994, the year that Bruichladdich closed, laying dormant until 2001. Matured for a quarter of a century, Head Distiller Adam Hannett has kept the casks that aged this Islay single malt a mystery. Complex aromas of marzipan, walnuts, caramel, honey, poached pears, plums and toasted oak fill the nose, complimented by strawberries, grapefruit, coconut and violets. The palate is more subtle, offering notes of citrus, toasted oak, Turkish honey, coconut, caramel and orange peel.
