In 1894, the recipe for Amaro Lucano was first created in the family bakery in Pisticci, a small village in the province of Matera in Basilicata. For over 120 years, Lucano has produced quality liqueurs though time-tested traditional methods combined with a focus on innovation. From those humble beginnings in Pisticci, where the Amaro is still made to this day, Lucano products are now enjoyed all around the world.

Thanks to the skillful blend of more than 30 herbs, it has a decisive taste that is perfect for all occasions. It can be enjoyed neat, chilled, with ice or orange zest. It also makes a killer Black Manhattan, which switches out the sweet vermouth for amaro.

Wine Enthusiast, 93 points: "Deep purple-brown in the glass, the aroma mixes jammy cherry and raspberry with eucalyptus. The palate walks the line between lightly sweet and lightly bitter, mingling herbaceous root beer notes with faint but refreshing mint and a mildly bitter edge. Recommended as a digestif or for cocktail mixing (i.e. Negroni-style drinks)."
